Where’s Jack?

Wondered who that is who has been horning in on Maggie Brooks’ photo ops?
That is Monroe County Legislator Jack Driscoll who is also running against fellow Republican and incumbent Jim Breese for the Henrietta Town Supervisor position.
Brooks has not officially endorsed any candidate but one would have to assume that her support is behind Driscoll. What Breese did to anger the Machiavellian Steve Minarik and his lapdog Maggie is unknown, but if he has done so that means Breese is one of the few good Republicans left in Monroe County.

Minarik has been systematically trying to oust and harass any supervisor who isn’t one of his boys (or girls). Breese is a survivor. Minarik led the effort to run out Chan Philbuck in Penfield and Steve Henderschott (who is back to being one of the boys) in Chili. He tried to do the same in Webster to Kathy Thomas, and has been trying to do it to her successor Ron Nesbit.
Jack Driscoll is not running for Supervisor in Henrietta. Mike Yudelson is running against Breese. I don’t know how Minarick feels about him.
Beatrix,
Jack Driscoll announced in May that he will run against Breese with or without the endorsement of the Henrietta Republican Committee. Driscoll primaried Breese in the last election and ran on the Independent line in the General Election when he failed to win the primary.
Maggie may have one reason for throwing her support, either officially or unofficially, behind Driscoll in this year’s race.
Both of the photos pictured above come from announcements for businesses which have received COMIDA benefits, for example Tyco Electronics and ELO Touchpanels.
Breese has been one of the most vocal critics of Monroe County’s IDA practices even having his Assessor publish numbers on just how much COMIDA incentives cost Henrietta taxpayers.
However, the use of COMIDA benefits has been one of Brooks’ ways of rewarding businesses who appropriately support county GOP campaign funds. As evidenced by the recent events in the Town of Brighton the IDA process is drawing negative attention and Brooks needs to make sure that her camp is not involved in deteriorating the base of her power and influence; especially in one of the most attractive locations for businesses in Monroe County.
Breese has noted on multiple occasions that despite rapid growth in Henrietta’s economic sector the taxbase has continually eroded each year.
