Today’s Case for Impeachment
Iran has no nukes
You know all that rhetoric the American public has been hearing lately from the Bush Administration regarding Iran’s nuclear weapons program, the same rhetoric heard and agreed to by our esteemed representatives in the Senate when they basically declared Iran a terrorist state, turns out it’s a bunch of shit:
Iran halted its nuclear weapons development program in the fall of 2003 under international pressure
This minor detail was revealed Monday in a declassified portion of the national intelligence estimate.
So let’s see, the Bushies lying about the tactical and military capabilities of a Middle East nation in order to progress their own international agenda, have I been here before?
But are the Bushies now deterred on this front? Will they ease their pursuit of action against Iran? Hell no:
The latest National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) suggested the U.S. strategy of ensuring “that the world will never have to face a nuclear-armed Iran” was on the right track, said U.S. National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley.
“The bottom line is this: for that strategy to succeed, the international community has to turn up the pressure on Iran — with diplomatic isolation, United Nations sanctions, and with other financial pressure — and Iran has to decide it wants to negotiate a solution,” he said in a statement.
