RBJ’s Best of Web

The Rochester Business Journal (RBJ) announced its 2008 Best of the Web awards today.  The Eastman School of Music took the gold for best overall site and guess who got the nod for best Government site:

Government
Monroe County’s site www.monroecounty.gov ranked no. 1, above finalists Greater Rochester Enterprise Inc.’s www.rochesterbiz.com and Town of Pittsford’s www.townofpittsford.com.

Yeah the Monroe County gov site is sweet assuming you do not want any specific details on anything or a means of contacting someone who will actually get back to you.  However, if you are sitting home alone in a dark room on a Saturday night with a bottle of KY and a clean rag and have a hankering for photos of a saggy-faced, broad-shouldered female County Exec then MyMonroe is the place for you.

The website may have won an award, but Maggie Brooks has lost all the respect I had for her when she stole the piggy bank of the school kids by using her “F.A.I.R.” scam.

The only thing FAIR about it was it was a fairly sinister scam perpetrated in the dark of night when nobody was watching.

Just like the scam of “selecting” the Public Defender in a meeting controlled by cops, frisking the citizens who went to attend, and clearly defying the Open Meetings law.

Just like selecting the Board of Directors for Monroe County Water Authority, where the only member of the “other” party is a Conservative party member, while all others are Republican fat cats, thumbing their nose at the law. As if Democratic party does not exist!

Just like selecting the President for MCC where almost all members of the board are Republican operatives and they ramrodded the names of two Republican water boys with NO experience in Education Administration, when the Selection Committee had done a thorough and exhaustive research and chosen two candidates with excellent credentials.

I hope the Board of SUNY throws these two bums out!

It is important for Maggie to remember that there are more Democrats in our area, and they can kick her out in the next election and clean up this Republican cesspool of political favoritism.

And she should not waste taxpayer funds in trying to appeal the unanimous decision of the State Appellate Division Court that the FAIR plan is illegal!

    This Republican pig sty stinks!

I agree with most of your points here. I should probably put a post together on the subject but I have one issue: the MCC pres selection.

While the nomination of Bill Smith stinks what is wrong with having some local candidates for the position?
