Back from summer vaca to fussing & fighting
I am back from summer vacation with few tales to tell as the Indica took care of what the Chivas failed to erase.
I was surprised to see the back-and-forth in the 26 CD and, wouldn’t ya figure, it failed to get anyone anywhere.
I was also surprised to see the absolute elation and rapture on one side, and utter disgust and disdain on the other, inspired by an early-term Governor from Alaska.
Now the partisan banshees have shrieked, the primaries are over, the opponents have been decided and finally the WBP can step back in to sort out the mess. Quiet babies it is ok now …
Since none of you pansies are supporting me in my call for upheaval of the government through revolution I suppose we will have to attempt to do so via (insert high-pitched, lilting voice here) voting.
Here is the WBP fight card that the Colonel and I will be monitoring:
Presidential – John McCain (R)/ Barack Obama (D): Of course. To be honest with you people I have no idea what to do about this one. Each of the candidates, and their respective running mates, and thoughts of their possible Presidencies resulted in sleepless nights sitting on the couch watching the weather, sitting next to empty bottles of Jim Beam clutching my Colt .38 Super in one hand and my Pink Floyd albums in the other.
26 Congressional District – Alice Kryzan (D)/ Chris Lee (R): On one hand we have a self-described “industrialist” attorney who has donated to retiring Republican Tom Reynold’s campaign and represented the Occidental Chemical Corporation in the infamous Love Canal suit, and that is the Democrat candidate. On the other hand we have a businessman-wannabe-congressman who claims to be a conservative but, like so many others in his party, could turn out to be a G.W.C.T.B.C.B.G.T.W.A.S.L.L., or Guy Who Claims To Be a Conservative But Gets To Washington And Spends Like a Liberal
59 NYS Senate District – Kathy Konst (D)/ Dale Volker (R): Another toss up for me at this point. Volker is the worst kind of legislator, an entrenched dinosaur fearing no one, and is the poster child for term limits. Konst appears to be little more than a political opportunist. I say so due to her waffling and inability early on to even decide what seat she was running for, however, her Primary win despite her late entry is impressive. I also have qualms about Konst’s affiliation with Tom Golisano’s money but more on that later.
147 NYS Assembly District – Dan Burling (R)/ Phil Jones (D): Burling is nearing Volker territory in terms of wearing out one’s welcome due to ineffectiveness. To be fair Burling is a member of a powerless minority. I know little more of Phil Jones other than that he is the chair of the Livingston County Dem Committee.
130 NYS Assembly District: more later
You will also get WBP endorsements closer to election day but, quite frankly, all of these are toss ups for us right now.
Additionally, the Hair of the Hog is back in action so be sure to check out the good Doctor.
